一、课程的性质、任务
《综合英语》课程是一门贯穿英语专业基础阶段两年的综合技能课程,它有别于单纯的理论知识或单项技能课程,但又与其他课程如听说、阅读、写作等单项技能课相辅相成。本课程的特点在于语言材料全面系统,技能训练综合。“综合英语”课程分四个阶段,“综合英语”(二)为第二阶段的课程。
二、课程的教学目的和要求
1、教学目的:本课程的教学目的在于培养和提高学生综合运用英语的能力。通过英语语言基础训练与篇章讲解分析,使学生逐步提高语篇阅读理解能力,了解英语各种文体的表达方式和特点,扩大词汇量,熟悉英语常用句型,具备基本的口头与笔头表达能力,培养学生良好的学习习惯和学习方法,为进入高年级的专业学习打下扎实的基础。
2、教学要求:本课程的重点在于传授系统的基础英语语言知识(语音、语法、词汇、篇章结构、语言交际功能等),训练基本的英语语言技能(听、说、读、写、译),培养学生正确的学习方法、逻辑思维能力以及初步运用英语交际的能力。本学期通过听说训练,要求学生能用英语准确表达思想;通过基本的读写训练,迅速扩大词汇量,提高阅读的速度和理解的准确度,提高笔头表达能力。
三、课程的教学内容
第一单元Someone Waiting (6学时)
(一) 教学要求
1. Functions: Asking about &expressing impressions.
2.Grammatical points: pre-determiners/indefinite pronouns some, any ,both, each, etc; everywhere, nowhere, etc.
3.Vocabulary: see…off, give…an embrace out of place, fold into ,glance, look like ,pick up, capture, intense, head(v), delight
4. Understanding the text: The text describes the scenes of people meeting and seeing off their loved ones. Through her observation, the author draws a conclusion: Life needs to be this important all the time.

四、课程教学形式与安排
灵活处理教材,设计符合实际的教学模式
(1)听说训练:每单元教一至两个常用的交际功能,以对话形式介绍给学生。
(2)课文语言重、难点:围绕课文阅读以及课文中所涉及的语言重点和难点,展开全面的语言交际活动。
(3)扩展性训练:提供了听写、阅读、语法、惯用法、翻译和写作等训练项目。在教学方式上,灵活采用多种教学方法与现代教育技术,改变了传统的教学方法、手段、模式,强化了以学生为主体的主动学习,注重学生的创造与实践能力的培养,注重培养学生的独立分析问题、解决问题的能力。多媒体教学中尽量使用的课件,可以图文并茂,教学内容直观、具体、生动形象,教学效果较优,从而调动学生的学习兴趣。
